Want to get a Taste of what SB2w is all about?
Come join us for a one-day Vision Visit!
What is a vision visit?
A vision visit is a structured way for you to come and see the ministry of SB2W Tidewater in person. You come and spend one day at one of our camps, seeing all the activities, getting to meet some of our counselors and multi-year campers, and talking with Jimmy or Julie about the different program elements and how they all work together.
who should come for a vision visit?
Anyone is welcome, but these are mostly designed for church ministry leaders who are interested in starting their own sports day camp (either on your own or as a site of SB2W Tidewater) or for current or potential funding partners who want to see the ministry in action and how it all works.
When do i come?
The recommended days in 2025 are one day in June 24-27 (Tue-Fri) or June 30-July 3 (Mon-Thu) with Julie Dorn at our Suffolk location (Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church) or July 8-11 (Tue-Fri) or July 14-17 (Mon-Thu) with Jimmy Brock at our Red Mill location (Resurrection Community Church). If none of those days work for you, just let us know when you would want to come and will let you know if it will work out!
how do i get there and where do i stay?
If you’re coming from more than driving distance, for Red Mill, you can fly into Norfolk Airport (ORF), or for Suffolk, you can consider Norfolk or Newport News/Williamsburg Airport (PHF). For lodging, there are a variety of hotel options, or we may be able to put you up with a family from the host church, depending on availability. You may also want to plan some extra time to go to the beach! (just 15 minutes from Red Mill, 45 minutes from Suffolk)
how do i schedule?
Contact us and let us know you’re interested in a vision visit and we’ll get back to you very soon!
